Direct flights from Pune to Bangkok will now start on November 22: airport officials | Business News

The direct international flight from Pune to Bangkok, originally scheduled to commence on October 27, has been postponed to November 22.
Last month, Pune airport officials said a daily Pune-Dubai flight and a thrice-weekly Pune-Bangkok flight would begin on October 27. The announcement about the commencement of these international flights was also made by Union Minister of State for Aviation Murlidhar Mohol on his X account on September 19.
However, IndiGo announced a revised schedule for the Pune-Bangkok flight, which will operate three times a week to serve both business and leisure travellers. Fliers can make online bookings for the flight.
Santosh Dhoke, Director, Pune Airport, said the flight schedule was altered to attract more passengers and to inform them about the flights. “The last time another airline launched flights to Bangkok, they unfortunately had to suspend the service due to low passenger occupancy. To avoid a similar situation, the airline has changed its schedule, and the flights are expected to begin on November 22,” said Dhoke.
The flight from Pune to Bangkok will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 11.10 pm and arriving at 4.45 am. The return flight from Bangkok to Pune will run on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 1.15 am and landing at 4.15 am.
The Pune airport currently operates two direct international flights — a SpiceJet service to Dubai, active for several years, and a Vistara flight to Singapore that was launched in December 2023. SpiceJet launched the Pune-Bangkok route in October 2013 but discontinued it in March 2014. The airline attempted to revive the route in 2022, but it did not take off.
