Major airlines, including Air India, SpiceJet and IndiGo, Thursday issued notices regarding potential delays in flights to and from Mumbai as torrential rains lashed the city. Owing to the disruption in flight operations, Air India announced full refunds or one-time complimentary rescheduling for bookings confirmed on July 25.

The Central Railway announced that local trains are operating at reduced speeds due to low visibility caused by heavy rains and high winds.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urged citizens in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Pune to stay indoors, and assured that the district and municipal administrations are on alert, with rescue operations ongoing in flood-prone areas.
Shinde stated that NDRF, SDRF, Army, Navy, Police, Fire Brigade, and Health systems are coordinating efforts. Instructions have been given to evacuate and provide necessities to affected people, he added.
